Here is my entry for this week's Creative Craft World Scrap Map Saturday challenge -
This picture was taken in Lawrence, Kansas in October 2010.
For the challenge we were asked to scrap "red, white and blue" ~ as I had already got a red, white and blue theme going this week I decided to add another page with one of my favourite photos. There is a hidden journalling tag... and I managed to sneak in a couple of ring-pulls :D xx
This is the view from the hotel where I work as a waitress :)
Our challenge was ~ to use black and/or white ~ use ribbon (black rik-rak) ~ use 11 of something (there are 11 eyelets) ~ use metal (the eyelets are metal) and use a photo of something miraculous/wonderful.
It's a double pager of the "tailgate party" the boys took me to in October last year! The two local rival football teams were playing their annual pre-season "friendly" which apparently is a huge opportunity to party! It was explained to me that everyone takes their beer and food in their car boots (trunks) and has one big party - however..... as you can see from the photo..there were gazebos, full blown barbeques and hundreds of cars - it was amazing :D
Also, we seemed to be at a house party!! minor detail!! Great fun!!!
This is the detail of the sparkly chipboard letter I added. The photo does not do it justice !! I double heat embossed it in red glittery embossing powder then "glossy accented" - very pleased with the result :D
This is my page which my colleagues voted "Best Layout" at our crop night last night :D We were given a sketch to work fromand this is my interpretation ~~~
The picture is of Nickin the back garden of our home in Zelah ~ all the boys loved to sit on the lawnmower!!
Here is this week's for the Creative Craft World Saturday challenge ~~
Bit of an Easter theme going on - every year I buy Easter eggs for all the kids and never have one for myself - so this year I made sure I bought my own!!
Creative Craft World Scrap Map Saturday challenge!! James, Will and Nick (and me!!) taking time out for a cappuccino at a quirky little cafe in Lawrence, October 2010
My LO for the Creative Craft World challenge for week ending 8th April. Pictures are of my 3 DSs at the local ATV centre (which was a favourite for birthday treats) but they always came away absolutely filthy. We got wise after a while and they only wore old clothes!!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I have also completed today the UKScrappers weekly challenge. This week we were asked to scrap a celebration, use either pink or blue and add flowers, bells, a house or stamps. As you can see i used the blue and chose to use stamps
This is DS2 in the "liquor" store where he lives in America buying his own alcohol with his new id!!
This is my final take on the LO class on Saturday at Scrap Angels.
I changed the layout slightly because I think it fitted the picture better - but I liked this picture with the colours in the kit - so this is the result!!
Here is my LO the April wk1 weekly challenge. We had to use 2 photos or less, use circles, use only 2 types of embellishment and use a line from a song as the title. Think I managed all that!!
However, as I prefer my LOs with a bit more sparkle I've blinged it up a bit (not a lot!!) to go in the album. :D
Isn't the paper gorgeous - its Basic Grey Kioshi. And I've included the whole verse from the song, so that I know where it came from years from now when I can't remember anything!!
I've also finished March's album through the year pages. I had to re-do several of the photos because I couldn't get them to re-size enough to fit them in!!
Today I finished 2 of my halloween layouts that have been hanging around for quite a while waiting for the finishing touches. The first is of William in the garden of our house in Goonhavern. We moved there in June 2000 so this must have been either 2000 or 2001. The little picture cards are Tim Holtz ideology salvage stickers and spidery paper is Basic Grey.
And this one is William and Nick and 2 of their freinds all dressed up ready to go Trick or Treating! More Tim Holtz stickers (mounted onto card) and the pumpkins I made using "acrylic smash" technique. Homemade lollipop flowers in co-ordinating papers too.
